The Inaugural Bake-Off!

Sunday 19th May 2013

Over 70 cakes were entered into the first ever Easingwold Bake Off! held on 19 May 2013 in the Market Place in aid of the Forget-me-Not Club in Easingwold. Organised by the Forget-Me-Not Friends, an amazing £985 was raised to support activities and equipment at the Club which provides day care provision for people with dementia and their carers. The event also coincided with the start of National Dementia Awareness Week and served to raise awareness in the community of the challenges of the illness. Tea, coffee, and cakes were provided throughout the day by the Tea Hee and Sugar Mouse, music was provided by Billy Marrows and the cakes were auctioned at the end of the event by Ed, from Stephensons Estate Agents. More than 200 people came along to support the event and it was great to see the enthusiasm across the generations for cake baking. See photos of the event here.
